We’ve teamed up with paramedic Teneale Hatton from Safe + Sound to bring you this 11-part online Baby First Aid Course. We’ll unpack the fundamentals of baby first aid and give you the knowledge and tools to navigate the scary situations you hope your child never gets into.

In each session Teneale shares insights as a qualified paramedic with over 10 years of knowledge and experience, so you’ll know what to look for in a medical emergency, to spot what’s normal and what need’s urgent attention.

The course costs $79 and you’ll get access for 3 months to watch the course as many times as you like. Make sure you sign up using a device you’re happy to view the course on, as there is a 2 device limit.

SESSION TOPICS

  • Find out what baby symptoms are normal, and abnormal, so you know what to look out for.

  • Learn the fundamentals of baby CPR and how to practically apply them should they be needed.

  • Teneale and Grace discuss common choking hazards and what to do should your baby choke.

  • Learn the different types of burns and the ways in which these can be prevented and treated.

  • Get to know the common anaphylactic triggers and how to treat symptoms should your baby react.

  • Discover the signs and symptoms of common respiratory illnesses and which ones require serious medical attention.

  • Learn about some of the illnesses and infections that your baby may catch and how to manage these should they arise.

  • One of the more serious conditions, learn why these occur and what steps to take during and after a seizure.

  • Should your baby get a head injury, discover the signs and symptoms that require urgent medical attention.

  • Learn what to do with a fracture or dislocation and how to identify the differences between these injuries.

  • Get to know the different types of bleeding and what measures should be taken to control and manage blood loss.
